Directions to the Cottage from Buffalo/USA:
From Buffalo, getting to the Cottages should take three hours, traffic permitting.
-
Find your way to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) North towards Toronto. Depending on where you start, there are three ways to
do this:
-
From Buffalo and South or East of Buffalo, take the Peace Bridge, off the Niagara Thruway, into Canada. Continue
straight: this is the QEW.
-
If you're already at Niagara Falls, simply take the Rainbow Bridge into Canada. Continue straight: you are now on
Highway 420 (West). Follow 420 for three miles to its end at the QEW; take the QEW North.
-
If you're North of Niagara Falls, continue North on I190 until it ends at the Lewiston-Queenston bridge. Cross the
bridge into Canada. Continue straight: you are now on Highway 405 (West). Follow 405 for 5 1/2 miles to its end at
the QEW; take the QEW North.
- Take the QEW to Highway 407 East.
-
Take 407 East to Highway 400 North (to Barrie). Note that 407 is a toll road. The alternative is to get off the
QEW at Highway 401 East and take it to Highway 400 North.
- Once on 400 North, continue with step 2 of the Directions from Toronto below.

Directions to the Cottage from Toronto
From Toronto, getting to the Cottage should take 1 1/2 hours, traffic permitting.
- Find your way to Highway 400 North.
- Continue on 400 North to Barrie. Just past Barrie, exit right to stay on 400 North and continue.
-
The exit just beyond Waubaushene is Quarry Road (Exit 149); take this exit and turn right at the end of the ramp to cross
400.
- Take your first right on to Service Road West (heading North).
-
Follow Service Road West a short distance to Forest Harbour Parkway; turn left on Forest Harbour Parkway, a black-top road.
-
The road continues left at a T, then bends right, then, shortly thereafter, left again. At that second left, the driveway
to the Cottages is on the corner to your right (#130). If you are staying at the Peninsula Cottage, pull straight into the
driveway. If you are staying at the Waterfront Cottage, park on the grassy area in front of the trees and gate just to the
left of the driveway. You may drive through the gate to get closer to the Waterfront Cottage (not suitable for large
vehicles) but please be sure to close it.
